The National Health System Cost databases provided health policy makers and analysts information on the unit costs of health services. The database was developed by Department of Community Medicine & School of Public Health, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh in collaboration with with HTAIn, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and with technical support from the International Decision Support Initiative (iDSI). Each round of cost data is measured using standardised measures and the site provides details on samples, data collection and analysis. The datasets include the following:
|Round 1 (2016) :-||Cost data from 167 public sector health facilities (SHC, PHC, CHC and district hospitals) in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala and Tamil Nadu|
|Round 2 (2020) :-||Cost data from a national costing survey of 11 public tertiary, 30 district public and 40 private hospitals in 11 states.The states included are Jammu & Kashmir, New Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Tami Nadu.|

The unit cost estimator uses statistical methods to generate an average facility hotel cost per outpatient visit or inpatient admission in India based on a set of key variables known to influence unit cost. To generate the unit cost for your facility or state, enter the known variables in the online tool. If you do not have a value for the variable, the online tool will use a default value for the state. The starred variables are required for the model.
Price And Valuation Data
The present document gives information regarding price of equipment, drugs and consumables used at each level of health facility starting from sub-centers and primary health centers (PHCs) to community health centers (CHCs) and district hospitals (DHs). The data in the spreadsheets are collection of over 2000 prices of health care consumables, equipment’s and drugs that have been collected over a period of 7 years as part of an effort to obtain National cost data for the public sector facilities.
